What a good quote includes
Your details (and TRN if you're VAT-registered), a quote number and date, a validity date, clear line items in AED, the VAT line, the total, payment terms and what's excluded. The full checklist is in our UAE quotation format guide. Prefer a file? Download the free template.
Entering prices and VAT
You choose. By default you enter unit prices before VAT and, if you are VAT-registered, DuneQuote adds 5% on top: a line of AED 1,000.00 gives AED 1,000.00 + AED 50.00 VAT = AED 1,050.00 total. If your prices already include VAT, tick “My prices include VAT” on the quote, or make it your default in Settings: the total is what you type and DuneQuote shows the VAT inside it, so a line of AED 1,050.00 gives AED 1,000.00 + AED 50.00 VAT = AED 1,050.00. Invoices and credit notes made from that quote keep the same setting.
Default: prices before VAT
| You enter | Qty | Unit price (AED, before VAT) | Amount (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website maintenance, October | 1 | 1,000.00 | 1,000.00 |

| You enter | Qty | Unit price (AED, VAT included) | Amount (AED) |

VAT quick facts
- The standard VAT rate in the UAE is 5%.[3]
- A business must register for VAT when its taxable supplies and imports exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months (or are expected to in the next 30 days). It may register voluntarily above AED 187,500.[2]
- Not registered? Don't add VAT and don't show a TRN. Say clearly that the price has no VAT.
- If a price already includes 5% VAT, the VAT part is the price divided by 21.[4]
With DuneQuote you send the quote as a WhatsApp link. Your client opens it, sees the AED total with VAT, and accepts with one tap (with Pro+, they sign on their phone). No answer? Follow up in one tap: WhatsApp opens with the message ready, you just press send. With Pro, we also remind you by email on day 2, 5 and 10. Documents can be in English, or English + Arabic.

Do I need an account to use the quote maker?
No. The demo on this page works without sign-up. Create a free account if you want your quotes saved and want to see when clients accept.
Does it add VAT?
Yes, you can add 5% VAT, the standard UAE rate, or leave it off if you are not VAT-registered.
Do I enter prices with or without VAT?
Can I use it for clients in Dubai and the rest of the UAE?
Yes. Quotes are in AED with the UAE VAT rate of 5%, so they work the same in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates.
How does my client accept the quote?
You send a link on WhatsApp. Your client opens it on their phone and accepts with one tap. They do not need an account.
What happens if my client does not reply?
With a DuneQuote account, tap “Send a follow-up now” on the quote: WhatsApp opens with the message ready, you just press send. With Pro, we also email you on day 2, 5 and 10 with that follow-up ready, and email your client a reminder if you added their email. Reminders stop when the client accepts or declines.
How much does DuneQuote cost?
The Free plan includes 5 quotes a month. Pro is AED 29 a month and Pro+ is AED 49 a month, VAT included. Paid plans renew automatically every month until you cancel.
